Deborah has 20 years’ experience in science publishing and healthcare communications having worked as Advertising Director and Head of Business Development for publishers Current Science and Elsevier Science and subsequently worked at head of marketing at De Facto Communications before founding Sciad Communications and Sciad Newswire.

Emma Pickup

Account Executive

Emma is a graduate of Newcastle University with a first class degree in Biology. Emma’s role at Sciad includes PR, media liaison, copywriting, database management, social media management and client liaison. Her previous experience includes events management for the Northumberland Wildlife Trust, and conducting research for the critically acclaimed ITV programme ‘Julia Bradbury’s Best Walks with a View’ whilst working for Outdoor Productions.

Sarah Harrison

Sarah has had a long career in science publishing. She managed the publication of a bi-monthly science review journal for publishers Current Science and then went on to commission and produce a wide range of books and journals for the Biochemical Society. As a project manager for Blackwell Healthcare Communications and Avenue HKM, Sarah also gained extensive experience working for clients in the pharmaceutical industry, including GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi and Janssen Pharmaceutica.

Sarah has a degree in biochemistry from Sussex University and has over 12 years’ experience in the science publishing industry.

Emily has more than ten years’ experience in the education sector, she is fluent in French and German, having studied both at Southampton and London Universities.
