Brian Lord OBE, Managing Director of PGI Cyber, Will Be a Guest Speaker at Digital Tuesday, January 6th, 2015

Mon, 22/12/2014 - 09:00

London, 22nd December 2014 / Sciad Newswire / Brian Lord OBE, Managing Director of PGI Cyber, will be attending the first edition of “Digital Tuesday” in 2015 as one of the main guest speakers, along with Peter Martin of the Thomas Carroll Group PLC.

The upcoming Digital Tuesday, dubbed “Resilience & risk: Cyber security uncovered”, will take place on January 6th, 2015, in Newport. The event will bring to the table current issues such as the cyber threats that businesses have to face nowadays, risk identification and management, as well as resilience building.

PGI Cyber’s Brian Lord OBE will scrutinise the current internal and external risks posed to companies of all sizes, steps that can be taken to reduce the risk and the opportunities that can arise from embracing the growing demand for cyber security skills and expertise. Along with Peter Martin, Brian will provide expert insights on 2015’s cyber threat landscape and address the legal liabilities and compliance obligations connected with the cyber security issue.

“Cyber security is a much publicised threat; often dramatised and made more complicated than necessary.  Hyping up a threat in a scaremongering way is a surefire way to ensure that organisations don’t take it seriously. The threat can’t afford to be ignored, but it is pretty straightforward to understand and manage in a balanced and proportionate way, and need not be expensive. Managing the cyber threat properly can put an organisation in a strong and advantageous trading position and puts cyber security where it belongs: as an operational risk that is examined through a business lens, and not the lens of excitable sci-fi journalism”, comments Brian Lord.

Registration for the event is now open and free. The attendees will also have the chance to network with other Digital Tuesday participants before and after the event.
