Sciad to Attend SynBioBeta San Francisco 2015

The Sciad team will be heading to San Francisco to attend SynBioBeta San Francisco 2015 between the 4th and 6th of November 2015.
SynBioBeta will once again be bringing together the synthetic biology community for another high energy, action filled synthetic biology conference. Attendees from around the globe will hear from industry thought leaders, investors and entrepreneurs about the ever changing landscape of synthetic biology.

Sciad will be joining SynBioBeta for conversations, panels, talks, and fireside chats on sector-specific progress ranging from research-enabling tools, green chemistry and low-cost DNA synthesis to  open source biology, scale-up of industrial biotech platforms to the growing importance of the organism industry, and the automation and the internet of biotech things. The stellar speaker lineup includes over 50 industry leaders including the recently announced keynote by Tim O’Reilly from O’Reilly Media, Sam Altman from Y Combinator, Jay Keasling from the Joint BioEnergy Institute and Jason Kelly from Ginkgo Bioworks.

SynBioBeta announced on the 16th of September that SynBioBeta SF 2015 would feature the Blue Sky Bio competition. The competition is offering a total of $500k worth of prizes in order to provide startups, industry and academia with the chance to get extra resources to help fund their projects. Prizes up for grabs include; $100k in Synthetic DNA (from Twist Bioscience), $100k in outsourced experiments (from Science Exchange), $78k in startup grants and lab space at Imperial College London (from SynbiCITE), $120k in Cloud Computing (from Microsoft) and more.

SynBioBeta will also be hosting a Networking Brunch Cruise past the Golden Gate Bridge for anyone in the synthetic biology community to attend.
